About

She began her academic development with a BSc in Genetics at the University of Pretoria, which she completed in 2009. This equipped her with a strong foundation in science, research and an in-depth understanding of human development. Her growing interest in holistic, hands-on healthcare led her to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy completed in 2013 at the University of Pretoria.

Her Occupational Therapy career began by completing a community service year in 2014 as part of the Johannesburg Metro Clinics team. From 2015 to early 2016, she worked at Ithembelihle LSEN school, gaining hands-on experience with children facing various learning, physical and developmental challenges.

In 2016, she moved to Cape Town and joined a paediatric private practice. Here she started developing and enhancing her skills as a paediatric occupational therapist by supporting and treating children with sensory processing difficulties, ADHD, learning difficulties, and Autism. She further developed her expertise by completing certification in Ayres Sensory Integration with SAISI from 2016 to 2018.

In 2020, she took a significant step forward in her career by opening her own practice in Durbanville. In 2021, she further developed her therapeutic skills by completing training in Level One of the Tomatis Method.

Overall, Michelle has developed a passion for working with children aged 2 to 13. She has carved a niche in treating children who face challenges with sensory processing, emotional regulation, learning difficulties, and neurodiversity, including those with ASD and ADHD. Her commitment to providing tailored therapy solutions ensures that she meets the unique needs of each child, helping them thrive both at home and in school.
